There is nothing better than stir fry in my opinion, it tastes great and is easy on the waist line. Enjoy this blend of broccoli with sirloin steak for a quick and delicious meal. The Spicy Pepper Blend really adds a nice touch.

  • ¼ c. soy sauce
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch or arrowroot
  • 2 TBSP vegetable oil
  • 1 boneless beef top sirloin steak trimmed
  • 3 cups broccoli flowerets
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1 tsp peeled fresh ginger root, finely chopped (can also use ½ tsp dried)
  • ¼ tsp red chili flakes
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • Spicy Pepper Blend to taste

Whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch (arrowroot) and 1 TBSP of the oil with a whisk. Cut steak lengthwise in half and then crosswise into ¼ in-thick strips. Add beef to soy sauce mixture and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile cut broccoli into flowerets and onion into thin wedges. Cut bell pepper into thin strips and set all aside. Press garlic and finely chop the ginger.

Heat 1 tsp oil in Stir-Fry skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add half each of beef, garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes. Stir-fry 1-2 minutes or until outside surface of beef is no longer pink (do not overcook). Remove from skillet, keep warm and repeat with 1 tsp of the remaining oil and remaining beef, garlic, ginger and red chili flakes. Remove from skillet.

Heat remaining 1 tsp oil in same skillet until hot. Add broccoli, onion and bell pepper; stir-fry 3-4 minutes or until vegetables are crisp tender. Return beef to skillet; add broth. Bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute, stirring gently, until sauce is thickened. Sprinkle with spicy pepper blend.

Serve over rice or Asian noodles.
