Summer Shellfish Boil

Summer Shellfish Boil

Original Post by Teri in Mar, 2010

This is my mother’s recipe for a summer shellfish boil. She helped me develop the Pickling Spice recipe due to her love for cooking shellfish. I think you’ll agree, shell fish never tasted better!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of beer or white wine
  • 2 Qts water
  • 2 TBSP Pickling Spices – Mixed
  • Lobster, Shrimp, Crab or any shellfish you prefer
  • Spicy Pepper Blend to taste (optional)

Instructions:

Tie pickling spices in muslin bag and add to beer and water mixture. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, add the shellfish and cook for approximately 10-15 minutes until the fish turns pink.

Remove from shell and serve with melted lemon garlic butter. Tabasco or Spicy Pepper Blend adds a nice flavor to this dipping mix.
